Meet 'Wolvermouse'...

I'm pretty pleased with this one. The first thing I thought of when I read of Marvels merger with Disney was the back of Mickey's hand. There are three distinct marks, stitching, on Mickey's kid gloves from which I saw Wolverines blades spring forth. But I decided it was too simple. Also Wolverine may be popular now but he was not a founding character of Marvel and that seemed to be the idea I wanted to pursue. Spidermoush was the result.

But as a symbol of the new Mickey / Marvel alliance...It's as close to an update of the wee mouse as I think you could get. There is this re-invention (revivalist?) thing that we take for granted now, the update, Mickey 2.0 or whatever.

For my money 'Steamboat Willie' was Mickey's best era, because that was pure, I was never sure I could trust that Mickey, no Adamantium endo-skeleton required. Just a chancer...more Chaplin Tramp than every-mouse.

For anyone wondering what the heck this has to do with painting with wine...I assure you normal broadcasting will return shortly after this short 'commercial break'.

Tick-Tock

Oh wait a minute...that's 3am, I'm hitting the hay...I'll just load the latest one tomorrow. It'll take too long, 10 minutes is too long at this stage...so manana...

New Comic Merger Coming...

I was only going to do three, but my buddies are pushing me to do more. So two more and then...well, back to the Brass Neck project and that scoundrel Goodwin who thieved and shred his way to the top, rat.

You can read about that 'criminal genius' by scrolling down a few posts...

DON'T MAKE ME ANGRY! - The Duck takes The Hulk.

The winner is Paul Coates who correctly guessed at noon today via Twitter:
"@opipop the silver surfer and goofy. the goofy surfer. or the incredible hulk crossed with donald. the incredible duck."

Nice one Paul, you nailed it even down to the title 'Donald Hulk, The Incredible Duck'. Later today I'll post some of my favourite suggestions for other 'merger' images of Marvel / Disney characters soon. This series is now complete and I'll be offering the artwork for charitable purposes soon. I'm looking into it now so if you like my work 'stay tooned' and you can bid for the prints soon and in the process, with the proceeds, do some good.

This series was inspired by news that Disney bought Marvel comics the other day.
More details soon...please feel free to leave your comments.

Tinkerbellactus, print 2 of 3 in the merger series.

Guess what my third Disney / Marvel merger will be to win an original print.

Q - What do you get if the biggest name in comics is swallowed up by a sweet little fairy?
A - 'Tinkerbellactus'

Print two in the set of 3.

Charity auction details coming up...as is print number 3...can you guess what my final merger will be?
If you guess correct I'll send you a print...but be quick, I'm loading the finished print tomorrow.

If one is Spidermoush (or spidermouse) and two is Tinkerbellactus...what will number three be?

Answer that question, dear reader, and you'll have won an original print that you can hang in your homestead as a graphic symbol of your sagacious wit and misspent youth!

Be quick...send your comments now.

Charity Work

In the cold light of day, I've come to realise that the print of SpiderMoushe that I made last night should be a 100% charity thing. Don't ask me why, it just became blindingly obvious as a possible strong one for a kids charity auction. So hang on if you're interested as I look into the charity option.

Spidey Gets Owned by Mickey

SpiderMoushe.
Disney bought Marvel Comics today. There are 4 prints in this set available, 100 dollars each, signed and numbered.

The print size is quite big - A2 -- 420 x 594 mm -- 16.5 x 23.4

For anyone wondering where the brass-neck sketches are or why there are no wine sketches here today, I have one excuse. It's hot here and the kids have a hose and that's all there is to it. I need cool temperatures and some silence, well, mostly.

Contact me now to buy this print, or leave a comment and I'll get back to you.
